# Identity verification without collecting verification data FaceLock verifies who holds a credential without creating an account for the person being checked, and without shipping their face template to a server during the scan. ## What stays on the credential Biometric templates are sealed inside the credential at issuance. They do not leave that credential or travel to FaceLock during a later Reader check. ## What happens at verification Comparison runs on the verifier's device against the template embedded in the UR Code. No biometric data is collected, stored, or transmitted in that step. ## Why organizations care You still get a face-bound check. The person being verified does not need an app login, and the scan itself does not create a new biometric archive on your side.
