Product Questions

How does FaceLock eliminate credential fraud?

FaceLock solves the fundamental weakness in digital credentials: proving the right person is in control. Traditional systems only verify that a device or certificate is valid, but cannot confirm that the legitimate person is using it. FaceLock binds the credential directly to the person's biometric signature using FaceTec's iBeta Level 1 & 2 certified 3D liveness detection. The biometric template is sealed within the credential itself, so verification requires both the credential AND the person's physical presence.

What makes offline verification possible?

FaceLock uses UR Code technology combined with PKI cryptographic signing. All necessary verification data—including the biometric template, credential information, and cryptographic signatures—is embedded within the QR code itself. The FaceLock Reader app can verify the authenticity of the credential, validate the cryptographic signatures, and perform biometric matching entirely offline using the smartphone's processing power.

How accurate is the facial recognition technology?

FaceLock leverages FaceTec's industry-leading 3D liveness detection technology, which has achieved iBeta Level 1 and Level 2 certification—the highest standards for biometric accuracy and anti-spoofing. This technology can distinguish between live humans and photos, videos, masks, or other spoofing attempts. The 3D facial mapping ensures high accuracy even with changes in lighting, aging, or minor appearance variations.

Implementation Questions

How long does implementation typically take?

Implementation timelines depend on organizational complexity and integration requirements. Simple pilot programs can be launched within 30-60 days. Full production deployments typically require 90-180 days, including stakeholder training, system integration, and process development. Our implementation team provides comprehensive support including project management, training, and technical assistance to ensure smooth deployment.

What hardware is required for implementation?

FaceLock requires no special hardware. For issuing credentials, organizations need the FaceLock Creator app on standard iOS or Android devices. For verification, any relying party can use the free FaceLock Reader app on any smartphone with a camera. This universal compatibility eliminates the need for expensive specialized equipment and makes the system accessible to organizations with limited technology budgets.

Security & Privacy Questions

How is biometric data protected?

FaceLock follows a privacy-first approach. Biometric templates are created during credential issuance and sealed within the credential itself—they never leave the credential or travel to external servers. During verification, biometric comparison happens locally on the verifier's device using the template embedded in the credential. No biometric data is collected, stored, or transmitted during the verification process, ensuring maximum privacy protection.

Business Questions

What is the total cost of ownership compared to current systems?

FaceLock often reduces total cost of ownership by eliminating ongoing expenses associated with traditional systems: help desk support calls, fraud remediation, infrastructure maintenance, and verification overhead. The system's offline capability eliminates network dependencies and reduces operational costs. While specific pricing depends on deployment scale and requirements, most organizations see ROI within 12-18 months through reduced fraud and operational efficiency gains.

Common Objections

Our current system works fine

How confident are you that the person presenting a credential is actually the legitimate holder? Current systems verify that certificates or devices are valid, but they cannot confirm human identity. Consider the potential liability and reputational damage if fraudulent credentials are accepted. FaceLock addresses the fundamental gap between digital security and human verification that all existing systems have.

What about privacy concerns with biometric data?

FaceLock actually enhances privacy compared to other systems. We collect no data during verification, require no user accounts, and don't track usage. Biometric templates never leave the credential itself. Unlike many digital systems that create extensive audit trails and data collection points, FaceLock verification is completely anonymous from a data perspective.

This technology seems too complex

For end users, FaceLock is actually simpler than most current solutions. The process is just: scan, look, verify. No passwords, no apps to download for verification, no account creation. We handle all the complex cryptography and biometric processing behind the scenes. Most users find it more intuitive than traditional credential verification methods.
